This weekend, the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex will once again take center stage as it hosts the Ocean Breeze Freedom Games, one of the largest and most prestigious high school indoor track & field meets in the country.
Drawing elite programs from across the region and beyond, the Freedom Games continues its tradition of showcasing top-tier competition, electric performances, and the next generation of track & field stars. The two-day meet will feature girls competition on Saturday and boys competition on Sunday, allowing each division to take center stage in a championship-caliber environment.

Sprints & Hurdles
55m Dash
The girls' 55-meter dash is set to ignite the weekend with a fast and furious showdown. Alexa Jacobs (Port Jefferson), Rachel Budke (Hauppauge), and Coryn Nestor-Hubert (Notre Dame Academy) all enter with sub-7.10 potential, setting the stage for a race that could come down to hundredths of a second.
On the boys' side, Jevvon Ledgister (St. Peter's Prep) headlines the field with a blazing 6.31, and he'll be hunting a mark in the 6.20s. Challenging him are Jayden McCabe (Connetquot) and Davion Dhell (Sachem East), ensuring a fast and competitive final.
300m Dash
The girls' 300 meters features a strong return from Jacobs and Nestor-Hubert, with Gabrielle Szyarto (Central Bucks East) looking to dip under the 40-second barrier for the first time.
On the boys' side, Ledgister again headlines the field, this time over the longer sprint, with Eyad Sayed (Shaker) and Jack Larson (Guilderland) close behind and ready to push the pace.
55m Hurdles
The girls' hurdles shape up as one of the tightest races of the meet, led by Rayshelle Brown (Smithtown East) and Parker Stelle, both of whom have dipped under 8.20 this season. Expect a thrilling finish that may come down to the final lean.

600m
The boys' 600 meters features Pablo Emilio Abdelsayed (Newburgh Free Academy) as the top seed with a personal best of 1:22.54, followed closely by teammates Benjamin Bermudez and Kendy Georges, along with Owen Conley (Colonie), who sits just a second back and could factor heavily into the outcome.
On the girls' side, former Ocean Breeze WaveRunner Milani Jackson (Wagner HS) returns to her home track seeking victory. She'll be challenged by Joy Onyewuchi (Ridley) and Madison Epstein and Paige Dougherty of Central Bucks East.

One of the highlight events of the weekend, the boys' 1000 meters could produce national-level marks. Owen Conley (Colonie) enters with a personal best of 2:31.19, putting him within striking distance of the New York No. 1 mark. Challenging him are Ryan Newcomb (Greenwich) and Jake Gaudette (Shaker), both capable of forcing a fast, honest race.

The girls' 1600 meters features one of the deepest fields of the meet. Cali Gabrielson (Mt. 3000m
The girls' 3000 meters will be led by Anna Furman, who enters as the clear favorite and is eyeing a breakthrough beyond her 9:56.92 personal best. Grace Gutowski (Paul VI) and Madelyn McCartney (Emmaus) will look to keep the pace honest and challenge throughout.
On the boys' side, fans can expect one of the most exciting races of the weekend as four athletes target the sub-9:10 barrier. Clay Stevens (Manalapan) leads a strong field that includes Edwin Alleva (Monsignor Farrell), Tristan Acevedo (Wagner College HS), and Simone Saffayeh (McKee/Staten Island Tech).

Girls Weight Throw & Shot Put
In the weight throw, Natalie Taylor (Sacred Heart Academy) enters as the clear favorite, looking to break the 50-foot barrier and move into the national top 12. In the shot put, Anna Casciano (The Hun School) stands out as the top contender for gold.
Boys Weight Throw & Shot Put
Nationally ranked Kane Poje headlines the boys' throws, sitting No. 3 in the U.S. with a best of 73'6.5" in the weight throw. Challengers Anthony Pisciotta (Commack) and Roman D'Alfonso (Newburgh Free Academy) are both chasing the 70-foot mark.
In the shot put, Poje again leads the field while Vernon Watson (Colonie) looks to close in on the 60-foot barrier.
Horizontal Jumps
Girls Triple Jump & Long Jump
The girls' triple jump could be the field event of the weekend, led by Isabella Filosa (John S. Burke Catholic), who has jumped 38'11.75" and is eyeing the 40-foot mark. She'll be challenged by Dayne Scott (Valley Central), Kayla Beaumont (Deer Park), and Ella Michelitch (Minisink Valley).
In the long jump, Filosa again leads after clearing 18'11.75", with Rachel Budke (Hauppauge) close behind as both aim for the 19-foot barrier and a spot among the nation's top 20.

Jalen Chapman (CBA–Albany) leads the boys' triple jump with a mark of 46'4.5", followed closely by Emerson Atkins (Commack), Jadem Williams (Newburgh Free Academy), and Giancarlo (DePaul Catholic).
In the long jump, the top three—Maxwell Ferguson (Deer Park), Jack Larson (Guilderland), and Ryan Hemighaus (Roman Catholic)—are separated by just three inches and all rank inside the national top 20, setting the stage for a dramatic showdown.
