The Ocean Breeze WaveRunners competed in the 2019 USATF New York Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships at Van Cortlandt Park on Sunday, November 10. As a team, the WaveRunners earned 29 medals, bringing their season total to 82, marking the most successful cross country season the team has had to date. As a team, the 8 & younger girls took first and third place. The 8 & younger boys finished second overall while the 9-10 girls finished in first place. The 9-10 boys also took first and fifth place overall. Over 40 athletes qualified for the Region One Championships on Sunday, November 24 at Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park, NY. The top 30 finishers at the Junior Olympic Champions earned medals and qualified for Region One.
