71st Annual Bishop Loughlin Games Day One Recap

The 71st Annual Bishop Loughlin Games delivered standout performances across the varsity boys field on day one!

Jevon Ledgister (St. Peter's Prep) doubled in the 55m (6.31 - new meet record) and 300m (34.07) to be named Boys Track MVP. In the 55m hurdles, Jeremy Walters (Susan E. Wagner) won in 7.45 - a new meet record, while Wagner's squad also impressed in the relays, taking the 4x200 in 1:29.75. Susan Wagner won the team trophy with a total of 32 points.

Jayden Falcon (Xavier) opened the oval with a win in the 2 Mile (9:17.66) and Alec Jurgaitis (St. Mark's) took the mile in 4:20.29. Alex Toran (Northport) won the 1000m (2:34.99) and Zach Paggi (Kellenberg) took the 600m (1:22.42). Newburgh Free Academy won the 4x400 (3:22.49) and Nyack captured the 4x800 (8:32.30).

In the field, Malik Mohammed (West Side HS) soared to 22-1 in the long jump, Jaheim Cole (Dover HS) leaped 46-2 in the triple jump, and Maxwell Kimball (CBA Albany) cleared 6-6 to win the high jump after winning a jump-off. Jonathan Szymanski (Chaminade) doubled up in the throws, winning both Shot Put (54-3) and Weight Throw (66-1.50) en route to being named Boys Field MVP, while Tharidu Hewabajamage (Susan E. Wagner) topped the Pole Vault at 12-0.

The girls hit the track here at the Ocean Breeze Atheltic Complex on Sunday, December 21st to close out the 71st Annual Bishop Loughlin Games.
