Ridge High School Girls, North Brunswick High School Boys Post Overall Team Wins at 2025 Essex Season Opener

The 2025 Essex County Track Coaches Association Season Opener saw the Ridge HS Girls total 76.70 points & the North Brunswick HS Boys total 106.25 points to win their respective team trophies.

West Orange's Corbin Raston swept the sprints, winning the 55 meters (7.07) and the 200 meters (24.75). In the field, West Orange also picked up a win as Jasmyne Parker launched the top shot put mark of 35-7.25. Ridge enjoyed a huge day thanks to Daphne Georgiades, who doubled, taking the long jump (17-9.25) and the 400 meters (57.18). Ridge capped things off with a win in the 4x400 relay (4:15.40).

Ella Andersen (Metuchen) won the 1600 meters in 5:16.08, while Gwendolyn Neale (Verona) took the the 800 meter race at 2:15.13. In the hurdles, Ebony Turner (St. Benedict's Prep) claimed the 55-meter hurdles (8.41), while the  jumps saw Mila Huang (Montclair Kimberley Academy) clear 10-6 in the pole vault and Kaya Waldron (North Brunswick) win the high jump (5-4).

North Brunswick's Jamell Wilmote won the the 55 meters (6.51) and the 200 meters (22.01). Teammate Michael Perry took the  55-meter hurdles (7.53). In the jumps, Tyler O'Garro (North Brunswick) swept the long jump (21-3) and high jump (6-6). Daniel Riga (Franklin Township), won the shot put at 54-4. Connor Polen (Newark Academy) took the 1600 meters at 4:29.82 and Brody Watt (Bernards) won the 800 meters at 1:55.98. Ridge also found success in the field as Jacob Medenilla cleared 12-9 to win the pole vault. Justin Parris (Malcolm X Shabazz) won the 400 meters (50.07), and Malcolm X Shabazz, anchored by Parris closed the meet with a strong 4x400 relay win (3:24.24).
