The Ocean Breeze WaveRunners had an incredible weekend at the 2022 USATF National Youth Outdoor Championships at Icahn Stadium from Wednesday, June 29 through Saturday, July 2. Both the boys & girls Ocean Breeze WaveRunners teams captured their respective National Championship by accumulating the most total points out of over 200 teams from across the United States.

Collectively, the WaveRunners earned over 60 medals with multiple individual first-place finishes and multiple first-place team finishes in the boys 8 & under, boys 9-10, girls 9-10 & girls 11-12 divisions. In the girls 13-14 division 800 meter run, Katelyn Kliesch took first-place with her time of 2:17.63 while Rylee Ferretti took first-place in the girls 17-18 division 3,000 meter run with a time of 9:59.59. All of the Ocean Breeze relay teams took home medals highlighted by four first-place finishes across multiple age divisions. Clevecia McPherson won the girls 8 & under long jump with her distance of 3.13m, setting a new personal best.

Notably, Abigail Robisky's second-place finish of 59.51 in the girls 11-12 division 400 meter dash tied the USATF New York Association record!

The team is back in action this weekend, July 7-10, and look to bring their national championship winning ways to the 2022 USATF Region One Junior Olympic Championships at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.
