Maria Dimino is a Dental Hygiene Professor at New York City College of Technology. She has been teaching since 2012 and has practiced as a dental hygienist since 2004. She has been truly fortunate in her career and lives by the motto, "Do what you love, and you'll never work a day in your life."
 

Currently, she teaches at her alma mater, where she graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Administration, cum laude. She also earned a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education from Stony Brook University in 2008.
 

In addition, she is a martial artist in American Vadha Kempo Karate and holds the rank of first-degree black belt Sensei. An overall focus of her career is connecting oral health with systemic health. She strives to educate her students and patients about the impact of the oral-systemic link, which has been a significant part of her career in academia and research.
 

Through extensive peer-reviewed literature, she emphasizes that exercise, diet, and daily oral hygiene home care can significantly improve overall health!
