Day one of the 2024 Ocean Breeze Freedom Games started off on Saturday, January 6 with the girls section of the meet.

The 2024 Ocean Breeze Freedom Games Team Championship went to Timber Creek Regional High School after they totaled 35 points. Saratoga Springs finished in second-place with 32 points followed by Guilderland in third-place with 27 points.
The first event of the day was the 1500m race walk where Samantha Delgado (New Rochelle) claimed first-place with her time of 8:24.50.
Emily Bush (Saratoga Springs) set the new US #1 in 3000m with her time of 9:28.89. She shattered the previous US #1 time of 9:34.14 with her performance today. Bush is committed to Providence College.
Naylah Jones (Timber Creek Regional HS) set the new Ocean Breeze Freedom Games meet record in the 55m dash with her winning time of 7.07.
Alycia Hat set the new US # 3, NY #1, & new Ocean Breeze Freedom Games Meet Record in the 1600m at 4:54.20 for Saratoga Springs.
After taking the 55m dash championship earlier in the day, Naylah Jones ran 39.52 in the 300m to set the US # 9 & NJ # 2 to double at the 2024 Freedom Games.
Liana Friedman set the US # 4 & NY #3 marks in the 1000m with her time of 2:51.96 for Smithtown West.
The 600m run was a photo-finish when Addison Vellekoop (Guilderland) & Jayla Johnson (The Montfort Academy) battled it out with Vellekoop winning this close race with her time of 1:35.87 to Johnson's 1:35.91. Vellekoop sets the US #7 time while Johnson sets the US # 8 time in the 600m.
Sariah Doresca, Breanne Barnett, Kelys Walker, & Malysse Williams (Baldwin) won the 4x200 with their time of 1:45.47
After winning the 600m earlier in the day, Addison Vellekoop anchored Guilderland to victory in the 4x800. Avery Kerr, Braelyn Cornell, Alexa Kosier, & Vellekoop collectively ran 9:34.05, which is the new US #4 time
Gabriella Vizcarrondo won the weight throw with her mark of 48-2.75 for Nanuet High School. Vizcarrondo is currently the US #1 in the weight throw (51-1.5) & is looking to win the NY State Championship later on this year.
Guerlande Pierre (Timber Creek Regional HS) ran 8.34 to win the 55m hurdles, setting a new PR. The 2024 Ocean Breeze Freedom Games Shot Put is Anna Casciano (The Hun School of Princeton) with her throw of 35-5.75.
Angelina Massey won the high jump for Ringgold with a new PR of 5-2.
Saratoga Springs' Amelia McBain took first-place in the pole vault at 12-0. McBain is committed to Penn State University.
Nya Thomas took first-place in the long jump at 17-9 for North Rockland High School. Raegan Bossard of Caldwell High School jumped 36-8.50 to win the triple jump at the 2024 Ocean Breeze Freedom Games.
Hailie Vasquez, Taitu Forrest, Jayda Johnson & Imani Green of Nyack closed out the meet by winning the 4x400 with their time of 4:13.47
Day two of the 2024 Freedom Games is slated for Sunday, January 7 with the boys section of the meet. The meet is live on MileSplit.
