Robert "Bobby" Funaro is the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex Member of the Month for October 2022.

Bobby was born and raised in Brooklyn before moving to Staten Island. He joined Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex just over four years ago because of the welcoming environment from the members and friendly, professional staff. 

You might recognize our member of the month. While Bobby visits Ocean Breeze multiple times a week, you've probably seen him on your television screen before. 

Bobby has starred in The Irishman, American Gangster, The Sinner, Ray Donovan, and most notably as Eugene Pontecorvo in The Sopranos.  

Bobby enjoys how spacious Ocean Breeze is and the ability to roam around the fitness rooms and our indoor track to get a complete workout in. You can see Bobby getting his miles in on the exercise bikes in our cardio room or enjoying one of our many group fitness classes. 

Bobby continues to lead an active lifestyle outside of Ocean Breeze. He especially enjoys riding his bike on the Cedar Grove Park Pathway and the South Beach Boardwalk.  

Bobby draws inspiration from his friend, the late James Gandolfini, because "Tony" was never afraid to take chances. He cites Denzel Washington as a source of inspiration as well because of Denzel's faith in God and his professionalism.
