Prior to becoming the Ocean Breeze Park Administrator, Lauren began her career the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation in 2012 and served as the Center Manager at the McCarren Play Center in Brooklyn. Since her time at McCarren Lauren also served as the Center Manager at both Al Smith Recreation Center in Manhattan and the Greenbelt Recreation Center in Staten Island.

Prior to joining parks in 2012 Lauren served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Operations and Facilities at Hunter College, part of the City University of New York system. During her time at the college Lauren worked on various capital renovation projects, managed equipment and purchasing needs for all eighteen teams, managed events, and oversaw all facility rentals and scheduling for the department which lead to revenue doubling. Other prior experience included coaching at Manhattan College from 2003-2005, Operations Manager at the Chelsea Piers Sports Center in 2006, and Operations Manager at Aviator Sports in Brooklyn in 2007.
Lauren is also certified as a Level I USATF Coach, is a member of the USATF Alumni Association, a member of the USATF and the United States Women's Track Coaches Association. Recently, Lauren has completed over 70 hours of professional development training with FEMA and the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety & Security (NCS4).
As an athlete Lauren was a six time All-East performer, competed in a myriad of events, including throws, jumps, and sprints, scoring conference points in every area of track and field. She was honored as the MAAC Conference MVP in both Indoor and Outdoors in 2002. Â As an athlete, she has helped Manhattan win eight MAAC Championships titles in both the indoor and outdoor seasons. She was also named the team MVP in 2002 and 2003. Her senior year Primerano was named captain and lead the team to their eight consecutive MAAC Championship title. She has qualified for and competed at the 2002 and 2003 USA Track & Field Championships as well as the 2004 USA Olympic Trials. Currently she holds the Manhattan College school record in Javelin and sits third all time in the Hammer. Lauren received her Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Education from Manhattan College.
In recent years, Lauren has received multiple awards and acclamations from NYC Parks, USATF and other organizations. Some noteworthy awards include:

- 2018 USATFÂ East Region Volunteer of the Year
- 2018 Inaugural Lauren F. Primerano award which was established for distinguished service to the association over many years resulting in enhances programs & services to the members of USATF New York Â
