Kate Murphy of Lake Braddock High School from Virgina has been named the Ocean Breeze athlete of the week.  When the bell lap came, Murphy kicked in, even after having the race all but wrapped up.  The junior from VA powered through the line to a US #2 All-Time performance (for amateurs), an effort that would be announced as the National Junior Class Record.  Murphy mentioned she has a lot more in the tank, as they had done a hard effort workout just days before, which makes us excited for the future.
