Exciting Changes Coming to the 2026 Elite High School Series

��️ Announcing the 2025–2026 Ocean Breeze Elite High School Series
The Ocean Breeze Park Alliance and Athletic Complex is proud to unveil the Elite High School Series, featuring four of the nation's most prestigious and competitive indoor track & field meets — each hosted at the World Athletics certified NYC Parks' Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. This year's series will showcase elite performances, re-imagined event structures, a brand-new medal system designed to honor the best student-athletes in the country and serve as a pipeline to the USATF Championships.
🌟 Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival – December 27, 2025
The season kicks off with a festive tradition — the Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival. This year, a new emphasis will be placed on the Distance Medley Relay (DMR), which has been moved earlier in the day to attract top-tier teams from across the Northeast and beyond. The meet will feature strong competition across all varsity events as athletes open their indoor seasons on one of the fastest tracks in the world.
🔥 Ocean Breeze Freedom Games – January 3–4, 2026
The Freedom Games return with a refreshed format and a new three-hour High-Caliber Showcase Window designed to highlight premier athletes and events. Expect record-breaking performances, intense rivalries, and a stage perfectly set for future national champions. The Freedom Games will continue to balance large-scale participation with a spotlight on elite-level competition.
💎 Ocean Breeze Invitational – January 31–February 1, 2026
Recognized as the largest high school indoor invitational in the United States, the Ocean Breeze Invitational brings together thousands of athletes from across the country. This year's meet once again features the Boys' and Girls' Pentathlon, offering a true test of versatility and endurance. The Invitational continues to define what high school indoor track & field can be at its highest level.
🏆 Ocean Breeze Elite Grand Prix – February 21, 2026
Culminating the series, the Ocean Breeze Elite Grand Prix will serve as a championship-style showcase for the nation's best.
For the first time, the Elite Invitational will include a Professional Races as part of the World Athletics Tour, featuring top athletes from around the country as they fine-tune their performances ahead of the 2026 USATF Indoor Championships. This exciting new addition bridges the gap between elite high school and professional competition, creating an unforgettable day of world-class performances. A select slate of high school elite athletes will be featured, allowing rising stars to compete on the same stage — and in the same atmosphere — as America's best.
���� The 2026 USATF Indoor Championships – February 28–March 1, 2026
The road to the Ocean Breeze Elite Series reaches its pinnacle with the 2026 USATF Indoor Track & Field Championships, returning to Staten Island for the third time. This national championship event will bring together Team USA's finest professional athletes as they compete for national titles and positions on the World Indoor Championship team.
For the first time, top high school performers from the Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival, Freedom Games, Invitational, and Elite Grand Prix will be invited to compete during the US Championships weekend in featured high school showcase races:
  • Girls: 400m and 800m
  • Boys: 400m and 1 Mile
Each race will also include one at-large entry, ensuring the most deserving athletes — whether through the Ocean Breeze Series or a standout national performances — will have the opportunity to race on the national stage.
Fans can look forward to two days of electrifying competition, NBC broadcast coverage, and the chance to see the next generation of stars alongside the nation's elite professionals. From high school phenoms to Olympic hopefuls, Ocean Breeze will once again stand at the center of U.S. track & field.

Ocean Breeze is proud to introduce an all-new, exclusive Elite Medal System for this year's High School Series.
  • Each of the four meets will feature custom-designed 4.5" medals, celebrating the distinct prestige of each competition.
  • Athletes who medal in a varsity event at the Holiday Festival, Freedom Games, or Invitational will earn the right to receive the coveted 6.5" Ocean Breeze Elite Performer Medal — awarded exclusively at the Ocean Breeze Elite Invitational.

The Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex is proud to be the new home of the WaveLight pacing system. This state-of-the-art lighting technology provides athletes with a visual pacing guide, helping them achieve peak performance and reach new personal bests. Made possible through a generous contribution from the Ocean Breeze Park Alliance, the addition of the WaveLight further solidifies our facility's commitment to providing a world-class environment for track and field training and competition.
