Championship season is upon us! Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex is slated to host five indoor track & field meets starting on Friday, February 17 & concluding on Monday, February 20.Â

Friday, 2/17 - Garden State Track Club InvitationalÂ
The Garden State Track Club Invitational returns to Ocean Breeze for the second-straight year. The meet is divided into two sections, high school, & college/open. In the open portion of the meet, Sean Peterson (Garden State TC) is seeded at 4:00 in the mile & could become the tenth member of the Ocean Breeze Four Minute Mile Club.
Saratoga Springs 4x800 relay team enters the high school section of the meet as the US #5

Boys 55m – Josiah Brown (Holy Trinity) & Marcus Nahim (Iona Prep) go head-to-head, both currently tied at the NY # 2 time of 6.41. Brown looks to repeat as CHSAA Champion in the 55m while Nahim looks to improve on his third-place finish from one year ago.Â
Boys 3200m – Jach Higgins (Chaminade) leads the field which sees five returning competitors from a year ago all looking to win the 3200m. Returning are Higgins, Tommy Flynn (Iona Prep), Matthew McCabe (Xavier), Aidan Brancaccio (Saint Anthony's) & Dylan Doskocil (St. Joseph by the Sea) Doskocil finished third in the 3200m in 2022.Â
Boys 600m – Wesley Noble (Bishop Loughlin) looks to repeat as 600m Champion. Noble, the newest Rutgers commit, is currently the US # 5 & NY #1 in the 600m at 1:18.64. Noble goes up against his teammate Jelani Johnson, who took third in the 600m in 2022. The Ocean Breeze High School Facility Record in the 600m is held by current North Carolina A&T's Reheem Hayles (Springfield Gardens), set back at the NY State Championships in 2020 at 1:18.48.Â
Boys 4x800 – Current US # 2/NY # 1 Chaminade (7:50.39) looks to repeat as CHSAA 4x800 champions, anchored by Boston College commit & lone returner from last year, Patrick Mulryan.Â
Boys 4x400 – US # 8/ NY # 1 Bishop Loughlin look to win the 4x400 after a second-place finish in 2022 anchored by the aforementioned Noble.Â
Boys Shot Put & Weight – Freshman Georgios Stergiopoulous (Chaminade) looks to double in the two throwing events, coming into the meet in the shot put at 52-7 & weight throw at 55-10.Â
Girls 3000m – Ava Gumb (St. Joseph Hill) looks to repeat as the CHSAA 3000m champion.Â
Girls 600m – Lindsay Yakaboski (Saint Anthony's - 1:36.87) & Katelyn Kliesch (Notre Dame Academy – 1:36.88) go head-to-head as the top-two seeded entrants going into Saturday. Morgan Middleton (Bishop Loughlin) finished in third-place in the 600m in 2022 & is running the 600m again this year. Kliesch is also the top-seeded entrant in the 1000m at 2:56.55.Â
Girls 4x800 – Saint Anthony's is the top-seeded team entering Saturday, looking to take first after finishing second in the 4x800 relay in 2022. Emma Rodriguez & Lindsey Yakaboski return from the 2022 team in this.Â
Girls Shot Put & Weight – Maria Chiariello (Saint Anthony's) looks to repeat as CHSAA Weight Throw Champion & looks to double in the shot put after finishing second in the shot put in 2022.Â

Daemen University, University of District of Columbia, D'Youville University, Mercy College, Molloy College, Queens College, Roberts Wesleyan University, St. Thomas Aquinas College, College of Staten Island, Georgian Court University, Holy Family University, & Post University are all scheduled to compete.Â
Monday, 2/20 - New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championships
Defending Champions: The College of New Jersey (Women) look to make it five straight championships. Rowan University (Men) look to win its eighth-straight NJAC Indoor Track & Field Championship.Â
