NY State Leading Times Set at 2022 CHSAA Championships; Saint Anthony's Sweeps Team Championships

The Catholic High Schools Athletic Association (CHSAA) hosted the 2022 CHSAA Intersectional Championships at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Saturday, February 19.

Saint Anthony's swept the boys and girls team championships. For the boy's team championships, the top-three teams were all separated by one point, as Saint Anthony's (37), Xavier (36) & Chaminade (35), finished one through three, respectively.

There were four New York number one times set this afternoon during the 93rd Annual CHSAA Championships.

Myles Small (Holy Trinity) won the 300m at 33.97, edging out Tavon Williams (Cardinal Hayes) in a photo-finish race where Williams finished second at 34.03. Small also set the US # 6 time in the 300m.





Myles Hogan (Fordham Prep) set two New York number one times in both the 3200m (8:54.95) & the 1600m (4:17.54) Hogan becomes the first New York sub-nine time since Aidan Tooker (Saratoga Springs) ran 8:54.22 during the 2016 Ocean Breeze Freedom Games. Hogan set a US # 2 in the 3200m.



The Holy Trinity 4x200 relay team of Dylan Braithwaite, Josiah Brown, Julien Crandall & Myles Small ran 1:29.15 to set the new top New York time in the event. The Titans now rank tenth in the US.

Brinesha Derrick-Bain (Bishop Loughlin) took first-place in three events: the 55mH (8.39), 300m (39.97) & long jump (16-11.25) Her 300m time ranks fourth in New York.



Saint Anthony's girls took first-place in the following events en route to their team championship:
55m – Giavanna Ciaravino – 7.30
Pole Vault - Marisa D'Angelo - 12-0
Weight Throw – Maria Chiariello – 41-1.50
